The New Orleans Port Commission Employees Credit Union was established in 1952 with eleven (11) members. Today the credit union has over 500 members.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Board Employee
A new member is eligible to join the Credit Union on his/her first day of employment as well as open an account for any blood relations including in-laws. Entrance fee will be $2.00. The member must pledge to buy one share ($5.00) within thirty days. Membership will not terminate for the employee if member leaves employment of the Port of New Orleans.

Board Employee Family Member
All blood relations, including in-laws of the Board employees are eligible to join the Credit Union with limited privileges.

1. No loans to family members under the age of 18 years.

2. Loans can be made to family members that qualify.

3. Membership will not terminate for the family members if the employee should leave the Port of New Orleans.

Board Retirees
Same as employee. Members that resign or retire from the Port of New Orleans or the Port of New Orleans Credit Union can remain active members (criteria changes).

EMERGENCY ACCESS TO STAFF

The credit union staff can be reached during a time of emergency evacuation to help with your financial needs. Barry Henry can be reached at (501) 960-0706, and Peggy W Grandpre can be reached at (501) 240-3903. These staff members will be able to do regular credit union business for you.
